Why Choose us

3 Principles We Follow

Icon

Asymmetry

Markets empirically overreact, i.e. they fall further and faster in response to negative news flow (FOLM, or downside risk) than they rise in response to good news (FOMO, or upside potential) which presents trading opportunities for savvy investors.
Icon

Volatility

Volatility refers to the degree of variation in asset prices over time, reflecting market uncertainty and risk.
Icon

Mean Reversion

Prices tend to revert to their historical average or medium term trend line.

We predominantly invest in US securities

The United States continues to lead the world in innovation and its financial markets remain the world’s most liquid/ efficient, with the added advantage of the U.S. dollar remaining the world’s reserve currency.

Sunrise technologies

Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, driverless cars, clean energy, hyperscalers, crypto currencies, etc

Arbitrage opportunity

Stock prices usually over-shoot, then return to their long-term trend line (“mean reversion”). Markets are sentiment driven and asymmetric; not perfectly rational. Pricing inefficiencies present opportunities to generate “alpha”.

Emerging Themes

Key Sectors and
Industries

We live in uncertain times, with unprecedented geopolitical risks, emerging superpowers/ cross-border alliances and autocratic regimes in the ascendancy, further complicated by upheavals like AI, cyber threats and climate change. The only certainty is unpredictability/ volatility. Markets are susceptible to “groupthink” (herd mentality) with emotional over-reaction to news flow. Our fund managers therefore have to be nimble, in order to consistently deliver alpha. We achieve outperformance through active trading, amplified by leverage using futures and options. Old school ‘buy and hold’ strategies are no longer viable.

Uncertain markets — driven by geopolitics, AI, cyber risk and climate change — reward agility, not buy-and-hold. We deliver alpha through active trading, using futures and options to stay ahead of volatility and herd-driven overreactions.

    Contrasting Investment Styles:

Warren Buffett is the most famous value investor. His style is to buy high-quality companies with lasting competitive advantages and hold them for the long term—preferably forever. He only invests in businesses he understands, and prefers to buy at fair to attractive prices. Like many gurus on our list, he practises patient ownership of quality companies, held through market cycles rather than traded for short-term gains.

Jim Simons founded Renaissance Technologies, widely regarded as the leading quantitative hedge fund in the world. Unlike traditional stock pickers, his approach relies on sophisticated computer algorithms that systematically buy and sell thousands of stocks each quarter. The strategy is driven by patterns in data rather than company stories, seeking small statistical edges that compound into exceptional long-term returns through rigorous, rules-based trading at scale.

Jack Bogle founded Vanguard and pioneered low-cost index investing for everyday investors. The Vanguard 500 Index Fund (VFIAX) offers diversified exposure to 500 of the largest U.S. companies across many industries—about three-fourths of the U.S. stock market’s value—at a 0.04% expense ratio. Over long periods, this simple passive approach has beaten many active funds, proving that cost and diversification often matter more than stock picking.

    Ken Griffin, Citadel

Ken Griffin built Citadel around a multi-strategy, data-driven approach that blends quantitative analytics with rigorous risk control. His teams run market-neutral books across equities, fixed income, commodities and macro, balancing long and short exposures so results depend less on broad market direction. Massive datasets spot pricing inefficiencies, while real-time risk tracking and swift cuts to losing positions help protect capital through volatile markets at scale.
